Terms of use

Effective 22 October 2026

These terms apply to your use of this website and to orders you place with Arêtiste, operated by Zachary Hall (“we”, “us”). By using the site or placing an order, you agree to them. Questions: zhall4513@gmail.com.

Custom prints

Every print is made to order from your route, summit time and the options you choose. Before we print, you see a preview of your design; please check the title, route and view carefully. Because each print is personalised, we can’t accept returns or cancellations for a change of mind once production has started.

Our remake promise

If your print arrives damaged, or doesn’t match the preview you approved, contact us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We will remake and reship it at no cost, or refund you if a remake isn’t possible. This doesn’t limit any rights you have under consumer law.

Prices, payment and shipping

Prices are shown in US dollars and include shipping within the United States. Sales tax, where it applies, is calculated and added at checkout. We currently ship only to US addresses (see Shipping & returns). Payment is taken when you order. Delivery times are estimates; production and shipping are carried out by our print and fulfillment partner.

Digital files (Class 0)

A digital file is your print as a high-resolution image, to print and frame yourself. You can print it as many times as you like for yourself or as a gift; you may not sell it, print it for sale, or share the file for others to download. After payment the download link stays open for 30 days, and you can open a new one for free at any time with your email and the order code on your receipt. Because the file is delivered straight away, we can’t refund it for a change of mind; if the file is faulty or doesn’t match your preview, we’ll fix it or refund you. Results from home or third-party printing depend on the printer and paper, so our remake promise covers the prints we make, not files you print elsewhere.

What the print shows

Prints are artistic renders. Terrain comes from public elevation data whose detail varies by region; light and shadow are calculated from the sun’s real position at your summit time, with very low or very high sun eased slightly so the terrain stays readable. Your route is drawn from the file you provide. Sample routes on this site are illustrative, and some sections are approximate. Nothing on this site or in a print is for navigation or trip planning.

Your content

You confirm that you have the right to use the route files, titles and text you give us, and that they don’t infringe anyone else’s rights. You keep ownership of your route data. You allow us to use it only to make, ship and support your order. We won’t show your print or route publicly without your permission. We may decline an order whose text is offensive or infringing.

Our content

The site, our designs, renders, sample prints, logo and name belong to us or our licensors. Your print is for your personal use; please don’t resell copies of our designs. Map and elevation data are used under their licences: terrain from USGS 3DEP, swisstopo, IGN and Copernicus WorldDEM-30, and sample trails © OpenStreetMap contributors.

Using the site

Please don’t misuse the site: no attempts to break, overload or copy it in bulk, and no unlawful use. We may change or pause features at any time.

Liability

The site is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Orders are governed by the terms in effect when you placed them.
